That's the reason why I love the fact that I became a father at 20 (unplanned). Now I share (just for example) a mad love for "spongebob" with my daughter. Because I still know and understand what it is like to be a child.

Your daughter and my son are two of a kind. It's lovely parenting an intelligent child with a huge imagination, but other people tend to not understand them at all.

I feel sorry for Ivy.

Love stories of your "spawn," heh!

As a random note, I found someone on Facebook the other day, with your daughter's name. She was also (surprise, duh!) blond, and apparently votes conservative, and is sort of froofy like a magenta-coloured drink. I hope that's not what your daughter turns out to be when she's older.

An excess of imagination only got me in trouble when I was bored and trying to make my own fun when I was supposed to be sitting and staring into space at school instead (I often finished work ahead of time and found that becoming a statue was not a particularly stimulating or even reasonable expectation), or when I was so deeply engrossed in a book that I couldn't hear my mother yelling my name from six inches behind my head.

I was delighted to come across your blog while I was lolcating at work one day. Ive read every one of your posts, found the floozie with the help of HTP's methods, and have a very strong desire to feed the feckless...with a knuckle sandie or ten.
I love your words.

Yeah, I definitely think you should let kids have their worlds, and encourage them and live with it. Your kid sounds like great fun.

I know me and my brother were obsessed with Lego when we were kids, we always had it out all over the floor, but my mum never really made us tidy it up after every time like some people do, which I find weird. The best cities and castles take days to make!
